Disney California Adventure (DCA) began serving alcohol throughout the park from its opening day in 2001, making it the first Disney theme park in California to offer alcoholic beverages openly to guests at various locations, unlike the original Disneyland Park, which remained dry to general guests until 2019.

The Restrictions

First, let’s review the rules around consuming alcohol in park.

  • No outside alcohol or glass containers are permitted in the park.
  • Any guest intending to purchase alcohol must provide a valid form of identification showing they are at least 21 years of age. Copies or pictures of your identification will not be accepted.
    • For U.S. citizens and residents, a government-issued photo ID is required.
    • For Non-U.S. citizens, you must present your original passport.
  • There is a 2 drink maximum, per person, at most locations that serve alcohol.
  • Beverages containing alcohol purchased in the park must be consumed within the designated areas of DCA. However, unlike Disneyland Park, it is generally permitted to walk around DCA with your alcoholic beverage, as long as you do not take it on any rides and do not leave the park with it.
    • Note, some queues do not allow you to have an adult beverage in line. If you are unsure of the rule, ask a Cast Member.
